As COVID-19 continues to have a tremendous effect on the lives and work of everyone and due to the ongoing restrictions and limitations created by the pandemic, the WFOT Executive have made the difficult decision to cancel the face to face meeting in Hong Kong. In accordance with WFOT statutes, WFOT will now host the Council Meeting 2020 online, in January 2021. We will provide further updates in due course.
Your patience and understanding is appreciated during these challenging circumstances, WFOT Executive Team

The Hong Kong Occupational Therapy Association would like to extend our warm welcome to WFOT Delegates from all over the world. The Hong Kong Special Administration Region (HKSAR) is a small city but you will be amazed to see the richness in culture. Occupational Therapy Service in Hong Kong was started in 1950s. Over the past years, there is tremendous development of the service in hospitals, clinics, non-government organisations, social welfare settings, schools and private market. We are anticipating service development in the coming District Health Center with main focus on health promotion and primary prevention.
Following the WFOT Council Meeting 2020, the Hong Kong Occupational Therapy Association would like to extend our warm welcome to Occupational Therapists from all over the world to join the HKOTA Occupational Therapy Conference 2020. Theme of the conference is “Momentum for Change in a New Era”. Please go to the Conference website at HKOTA Occupational Therapy Conference 2020 for full details.
We look forward to sharing with you and learning from you in the coming WFOT Council Meeting 2020!
Stella Cheng, Chairperson HKOTA, WFOT Delegate, Hong Kong
The recent demonstrations in Hong Kong have been widely reported in the international press. This remains an ongoing situation and subject to change. WFOT will continue to monitor travel advisories and liaise with the Hong Kong Occupational Therapy Association (HKOTA). The Association have advised that the areas affected are localised to the area of the demonstration at the time of event and that daily life and security remain normal.
As always, travel insurance is recommended for those who attend international events and should cover individuals for any unforeseen changes and cancellations that may occur. WFOT is not liable for any costs associated with changes to the venue or location of the Council Meeting. Please consider this when making any travel arrangements.
