WFOT Delegates and Alternates are generally funded to attend the Council Meeting by their Member Organisations. The Delegate may request financial assistance from WFOT to attend the meeting if unable to attend due to insufficient funds from their Member Organisation. Funding is awarded to the WFOT Member Organisation – only one application is expected per organisation.
To facilitate the attendance at WFOT Council meetings, the WFOT Council Participation Fund (CPF) is available to cover the cost of a Delegate’s least expensive return economy class travel to the next meeting. The Award is available to the member organisation’s First Alternate if the Delegate is unable to attend. The Award is not transferable to a subsequent meeting if no representative is able to attend.
The WFOT Secretariat will circulate application forms to all member countries prior to the Interim Executive Management Meeting the year before the next Council Meeting. Applications will be for financial assistance for attendance at the following meeting. With the growing number of organisational memberships in the WFOT, it is anticipated that there will be greater competition for the available Council Participation Award funds. Therefore all required documentation must be submitted at the time of applying or the application will be deemed to be incomplete.
Applications will be reviewed by the Vice President Finance and representatives of the Executive Management Team. Council will approve the amount of money to be awarded for the Council Participation Fund based on the interest income noted in the Annual Audit present at the prior Council meeting.
