One of the highlights of Congress was the addition of a new session format - Professional Issues Forums (PIFs). These forums provided occupational therapists with the opportunity to participate in facilitated discussions about various aspects of occupational therapy practice.
Each PIF was co-facilitated by 2 experienced occupational therapists who facilitated group discussion, established objectives, and recorded the major points and outcomes of the sessions.
Participants also had the opportunity to network with others who shared similar interests and to discuss particular issues relating to their interest area.
Summaries of the main issues raised during the PIFs are presented below, and it is expected that electronic networks for ongoing communication will be established in the near future.
