COVID-19

WFOT is going hybrid. What does that mean?

In light of the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, the WFOT International Congress 2022 will run as a hybrid event, offering both in-person and online attendance options.

Whether attending in-person or online, attendees will still get access to the same high-quality scientific programme you have come to expect including:

  • Engaging keynote plenaries
  • Nine concurrent sessions across four days, making the WFOT Programme one of the largest international occupational therapy events available
  • Live translation of all Congress sessions (English and French)
  • An international perspective with presenters from over 65 countries
  • Post-event access to recordings of all Congress sessions for both in-person and online attendees.

In addition to the programme, attendees will have access to over 50 sponsors and exhibitors, and the opportunity to connect with colleagues from around the world.

Moving to a hybrid format offers greater choice and flexibility by allowing attendees to choose a registration package that suits you best, and provides new opportunities to attendees who otherwise would not be able to attend an in-person event.

If you prefer the convenience and flexibility of learning from home, choose a virtual registration package to access content and connect with colleagues online.

With no onsite costs such as your name badge, satchel and catering, we have been able to pass these savings direct to virtual attendees, via reduced registration fees.

If you prefer the Congress experience, choose an in-person registration package to take advantage of the collegiality, networking opportunities and atmosphere that is unique to the International Congress.

We have all missed the opportunity of in-person occupational therapy events in the past year and are looking forward to the opportunity to connect across borders in 2022.

Statement regarding Coronavirus

WFOT expects the 2022 Congress will proceed as planned.

As the health and wellbeing of Congress attendees is our foremost priority, we will continue to monitor the situation, and make decisions based on the latest public health guidelines as we move closer to the Congress in 2022.

Make sure to subscribe to the Congress newsletter to receive updates and announcements, and check back regularly with this website and the French Ministry of Interior for the latest on local guidelines and travel rules. Ensure you check and comply with France's COVID-19 vaccination requirements which can be found here.

We remain unified as a profession in supporting colleagues who are providing occupational therapy services to those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
